Jesse Pinkman And Walter White Return For ‘Breaking Bad’ Super Bowl Commercial: Watch The New Teaser

Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston are reprising their roles as Jesse Pinkman and Walter White from the AMC hit drama Breaking Bad during this year’s Superbowl LVII. The duo are reuniting as part of a PopCorners ad—an ad that has already gone viral before even airing thanks to the hype surrounding the reunion of everyone’s favorite pair of meth cooks.

The snack food brand released a teaser of the Super Bowl commercial this morning on social media, showing Jesse sitting on a folding chair out in the New Mexico desert eating the popcorn chip snacks and watching the sunset. The chair next to him is empty and behind the chairs is the RV that the two cooked in during earlier seasons of the show.

This is clearly a nod to one of Breaking Bad’s best episodes: ‘4 Days Out’ (Season 2, episode 9) in which Jesse and Walter are stranded in the desert after the RV’s battery dies. The episode combined all the best elements of the show. Walter being horrible, Jesse being stupid, the pair’s triumphant cooking spree followed by near disaster, plus a dose of science-saves-the-day to wrap things up.

Here’s the teaser:

Cranston isn’t in the teaser, but we knew of his involvement even before Paul’s:

Breaking Bad remains one of my favorite TV shows of all time and a damn fine adaptation of Pinky and the Brain. The show’s prequel spinoff, Better Call Saul, somehow managed to be just as good and even made my list of Best TV Shows of 2022 thanks to a remarkable final season and one of the best series finales in television history. Jesse and Walter teamed back up for some Breaking Bad moments in the final season of that show as well which was pretty fun.

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is teaming up with Better Call Saul breakout star Rhea Seehorn for a new show on Apple TV. Bob Odenkirk, who played Saul Goodman, will star in AMC’s new comedy-drama Lucky Hank. Cranston is currently in the Showtime original Your Honor, while Paul recently starred in the fourth and final season of Westworld. Cranston and Paul, not content with just cooking meth, got back into business with Dos Hombres Mezcal, a company they founded in 2019.
