Hallmark Channel Renews ‘When Calls The Heart’ For Season 10

Hallmark Channel’s veteran When Calls the Heart is officially confirmed to return for a 10th season in 2022-23. That solidifies its status as the longest-running scripted drama on the feel-good cable destination.

When Calls the Heart continues to push the limits as to what we can achieve with this show,” said Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President, Programming, Crown Media Family Networks. “There are many more stories still to be told about the lives of the beloved characters in this series and we cannot wait for everyone at home to tune in to see what unfolds.”

Inspired by Janette Oke’s book of the same name from her Canadian West series, and developed by Michael Landon Jr., When Calls the Heart originated as a two-hour television movie in 2013 with Maggie Grace as young teacher Elizabeth Thatcher and Stephen Amell as Royal North-West Mounted Police officer Wynn Delaney. Erin Krakow plays the lead in the TV series.

The drama, which wrapped up its ninth season in May, averaged 2.9 million viewers each week (according to Nielsen Media Research). A total of 95 episodes have been produced to-date.

In addition to Michael Landon Jr., the executive producers are Brad Krevoy, Brian Bird, Lindsay Sturman, Eric Jarboe, Jimmy Townsend, Erin Krakow, Susie Belzberg, Michael Shepard, Vicki Sotheran and Greg Malcolm. Derek Thompson, Elizabeth Stewart, Peter DeLuise, Neill Fearnley and Amanda Phillips serve as co-executive producers. Vicki Sotheran and Greg Malcolm are producers.
