Garth Brooks Becomes Newest Country Star To Open A Bar In Downtown Nashville

Country superstar Garth Brooks has announced plans to open his an entertainment concept and bar in the middle of downtown Nashville’s famous honky tonk district.

His new venue will be located at 411 Broadway in a three-story, 40,000 property he bought last December.

In a statement released along with the announcement, Brooks said, “We feel very lucky to have the chance to be part of Lower Broadway, which is arguably THE hottest spot in the country. The goal is a classic honky-tonk that welcomes all and encourages love and kindness while playing the greatest music in the world in the home of Country Music!”

Brooks says Strategic Hospitality, a successful Nashville based company owned by brothers Benjamin and Max Goldberg, will help make his vision for the property a reality.

Strategic Hospitality operates a number of popular restaurants throughout the city such as Henrietta Red, Pinewood Social, and The Catbird seat, just to name a few. The company owned the property before Brooks.

It most recently housed the Downtown Sporting Club and prior to that, a bar and grill called Paradise Park.

Garth Brooks joins a group of artists who have opened venues in the 5-block live music strip such as Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and others. In February, Eric Church announced plans to open a bar on Lower Broadway in the former Cotton-Eyed Joe building.

Dierks Bentley was one of the first country performers to open a club downtown (after Alan Jackson). Within just a few years of opening Whiskey Row, Bentley watched as others followed. He says there’s definitely room for Brooks.

“Garth needs to have a spot down there. He’s the biggest thing we’ve got in country music, so it’ll be cool to see what he does. I’m sure he’ll do the best with it, just as he does with everything else.’

Others, like Butch Spyridon, CEO of Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, tends to agree.

“It’s Garth, how can it be anything but good! His brand and his work ethic give us comfort that this will be a great addition for all of our ‘friends in low places,’ and bringing in a partner like Strategic Hospitality further demonstrates Garth’s commitment to quality.”

Brooks will release more details on what the concept might entail, as well as when it will open, as plans progress.
