Does ‘Black Adam’ Have Post-Credits Scenes? How Many And Everything You Need To Know

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s big superhero debut blasts into theaters tonight. Black Adam is The Rock’s first DC movie and the beginning of a whole new arc for the DC universe.

Unfortunately for The Rock and for DC fans, Black Adam is not faring well with critics. My own review will be up tomorrow here on this blog and on my YouTube channel so be sure to subscribe to both!

One question moviegoers may have when Black Adam’s credits start to roll is whether the movie has post-credits scenes. How many? Are they worth sticking around for with a potentially very full bladder?

Here’s everything you need to know.

Does Black Adam Have Post-Credits Scenes?

Yes, Black Adam has a single post-credits scene. It actually takes place in the middle of the credits, so you won’t have to wait around until the very end (thank the gods). Black Adam only has a 2 hour and 4 minute runtime, which is very nice compared to the egregiously long The Batman, but it’s still nice to only have to wait through part of the credits.

Is The Post-Credit Scene Worth Sticking Around For?

If you’re a big DC fan, then the answer to this question is a resounding “Yes!” THere’s a pretty massive reveal and an important setup for the next phase of the DC Extended Universe. The Rock’s Black Adam will play an important part in where this story goes next, but so will another very familiar character who we encounter during the mid-credits scene.

Curiously, the scene in question was only filmed last month.

Okay, Let’s Talk Spoilers

If you don’t want the post-credits scene spoiled, turn back now. If you do, read on . . . .

In the scene, Black Adam has returned to his kingdom of Kahndaq. He stands up from his throne when a drone arrives and a holographic message from Amanda Waller plays.

“Okay, Black Adam,” she says. “My name is Amanda Waller. Congratulations, you have my attention. This is going to be your only warning: you don’t want to stay in my prison, that’s fine, Kahndaq is your prison now. You step one foot outside of it, you will not live to regret it.”

“There’s no one on this planet that can stop me,” he says with a defiant grin.

“I can call in a favor and call in people who aren’t from this planet,” she replies.

“Send them all,” he says, destroying the drone.

A caped figure appears in the smoke. It’s the Man Of Steel himself. Superman—with Henry Cavill reprising his role—has returned at last.

“It’s been a while since anyone’s made the world this nervous,” Superman says. “Black Adam, we should talk.”

Black Adam smirks back at our hero but says nothing as the screen fades to black and the credits resume.

Clearly big things are afoot in the DCEU. The last time Superman appeared outside of comics or animated films was in the ill-fated Justice League and its re-release as the Snyder Cut. Could we be moving toward a Man Of Steel 2? Or perhaps we’ll get Superman vs Black Adam, and DC will have a chance to redeem itself after the Superman vs Batman flop.

I still want an extended evil Superman story similar to the Injustice games but I doubt that will happen. Then again, the anti-hero Black Adam could make an interesting renegade fighting to topple a corrupted Man of Steel.

In any case, let me know what you thought of Black Adam once you’ve seen it either in the comments section below or on Twitter or Facebook.
