A district court in Moscow has recently arrested a man who is allegedly the administrator of the recently shut down darknet market Hydra. Local media reports identify him as Dmitry Pavlov.

The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow has arrested him with an accusation of the sale, production, and distribution of drugs under Russia’s Criminal Code. This incident was reported by the Moscow City News Agency.

The thing is, Pavlov who was taken into custody earlier in the week, has the exact name of a 30-year-old Russian citizen charged for similar offenses regarding his alleged role as an administrator of one of the largest marketplaces on the darknet, Hydra market.

In early April, Hydra’s server infrastructure in the country was seized by the German law enforcement who also took down the platform’s website. Various U.S. agencies also backed the operation.

The Russian man is also accused of administering and providing hosting services to Hydra, as highlighted by an indictment filed with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California

Furthermore last year, the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) put sanctions on crypto broker Suex based in Russia, who apparently had got more than $20 million from Darknet markets like Hydra.
