Diego Boneta Signs Deal With Prime Video To Star In And Produce Original Content

Mexican actor, singer and producer Diego Boneta and his company Three Amigos have signed has signed an overall deal with Amazon’s Prime Video.

Under the terms of the agreement, Boneta will produce and star in a full slate of shows in development and acting opportunities in movies, series and reality shows coming to the streaming service starting in 2023.

The Boneta-Three Amigos deal reinforces Amazon Studio’s interest to expand its footprint in Latin America. As part of that quest, it has pursued top-tier Mexican talent and productions to attract more viewers and leverage and promote a slate of local content from Mexico to reach audiences in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

“Our shared passion for telling authentic stories is the core foundation of this partnership, and I could not be more thrilled to work with Jennifer Salke and the entire team at Prime Video to create incredible projects that will resonate with audiences around the world,” said Diego Boneta.

Boneta most recently starred in Netflix’s Luis Miguel: The Series, portraying the Mexican multi Grammy-award winning international superstar and has acted in numerous Spanish and English-language television shows and films, including 2019’s Terminator: Dark Fate and 2021’s romantic crime thriller Die in a Gunfight.

His next film, scheduled for a June 2022 release, is a new adaptation of Father of the Bride, directed by Gaz Alazraki and written by Matt Lopez, based on the 1949 novel by Edward Streeter (which was made into a 1991 movie starring Steve Martin). He stars with Andy García, Gloria Estefan, Adria Arjona and Isabela Merced.

All new productions launched as part of this partnership will join Prime Video’s growing slate of Mexican Amazon Originals that includes Diego Luna’s conversation series Pan y Circo, Eugenio Derbez’s LOL: Last One Laughing, Un Extraño Enemigo and Cómo Sobrevivir Soltero.
