Coalition of Projects Based on Solana for Cross-Chain Messaging Protocol

Solana

Crypto communications expected to take a leap after the efforts of a group of protocols based on the Solana blockchain. The group anticipates reaching its goals using its open-source standards. Supporters of this proposal think that it will eliminate the unnecessary projects and chains between communications.

On Tuesday, 23rd August, 2022, the group dubbed as ‘Open Chat Alliance’ launched focusing on 19 Solana projects. These projects include a messaging platform Notifi Network, provider of Solana Name Service (SNS) Banifida and a social media platform with NFTs compatibility name Only1. This group has the motive to create an interoperable and transparent standard to facilitate handling the messages based on crypto.

The coalition aims to solve what Notifi CEO Paul Kim refers to as the “wallet gardens” issue in cryptocurrency. Users cannot freely communicate with one another after they join a protocol or project’s community, he told CoinDesk. Silos of communication are created when people are tied to a single platform and identity, he claimed.

The fact that it is open source, accessible, and interoperable goes against the very premise of Web3, according to Kim. Crypto initiatives have attempted to topple these barriers before. service for data The Cosmos ecosystem as a whole is structured around the concept of inter-blockchain communications and Chainlink has its own cross-chain infrastructure.

The coalition claims that despite the technical differences between blockchains, it will establish a communications standard that projects on many chains can use. An interoperable standard would, in theory, make it easy for a user on Solana to send a message to a user on Ethereum network.

Let alone the cross system, currently there are messaging systems that could provide facility messages over the Solana network itself. One such firm working in the similar ground of messaging standards, named Dialect, has also illustrated the difficulties faced during the development of such a protocol.
