Biden’s Thinking On Energy Is Deeply Flawed And Possibly Deadly

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg made telling statements this week that revealed deep flaws in how the Biden Administration views the energy world.

At one event Buttigieg said that even if we were energy-independent regarding fossil fuels, prices would still be impacted by what went on in the rest of the world and that, by contrast, things would be smoother if we met our energy needs with such alternatives as windmills and solar panels.

This segment of What’s Ahead posits that our energy chief is spouting nonsense. So-called renewables are loaded with minerals and other materials that are effected by the kinds of variables that hit oil and gas.

The Secretary also announced that the government was raising fuel mileage standards by 33%, to be achieved by 2026. This can’t be done without a gargantuan increase in sales of electric vehicles, which just isn’t going to happen.

Moreover, the primary way manufacturers achieve better mileage is by making vehicles lighter—a disaster when those vehicles are in an accident. This, in turn, has led to tens of thousands of highway deaths.
