Bentley University Now Welcomes Cryptocurrencies For Tuition Fees

The private University in Waltham, Massachusetts, Bentley University, has recently disclosed that it now accepts cryptocurrencies for tuition payments. 

The Finance School Collaborates with Coinbase

According to an announcement surfacing from Bentley’s classroom, the school of accounting and finance has collaborated with Coinbase to provide the students and their families the facility to pay the tuition fees via digital assets. 

Bentley has planned to accept three cryptocurrencies which are Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and USD Coin (USDC). According to E. LaBrent Chrite , the Bentley president, the school was founded 105 years ago and is now accepting a technology that might completely shift the traditional finance space. 

He highlighted that the University is at the forefront of preparing business leaders with the knowledge and skills to succeed in the world economy. And that they are proud to embrace this technology that their students are learning about that will soon transform the global business landscape they’re about to enter.

A lot of universities across the world embrace cryptocurrencies, including the Financial Business School in Paris, the University of Columbia in Carlisle, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Business School in Spain. 

Apart from these, the United States King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, also accepts bitcoin, and the University of Pennsylvania accepts digital assets too. 

The announcement by Bentley also highlights that a student named Alex Kim rolled out the Bentley Blockchain Association. 

According to Kim, who highlighted his views in a press statement, students are interested in getting to know more about blockchain technology, decentralized finance (DeFi), and cryptocurrency investments. And that these technologies are influencing the sectors where they would be working in the future. 

Cryptocurrency adoption is increasing worldwide as digital assets are accepted as a payment mode in various sectors, including education. And this gives a hint of how the technology would change the whole traditional space via innovations.
