Anargyros Garyfalos Becomes Co-CIO of XM

XM.com, an online trading platform, today announced the promotion of Anargyros Garyfalos, an industry veteran with more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry, to the position of Co-CIO.

He has been working with XM since 2017. In his new role, Garyfalos will facilitate XM achieve its mission of global expansion. In a LinkedIn post, the newly appointed Co-CIO expressed his happiness over the latest promotion and noted that he is eagerly waiting to work alongside Vasilis Hadjisophocle, Deputy Chief Information Officer at XM.

“I’m happy to share that I am starting a new position as Co-CIO at XM. In this new capacity, there is nobody else I would rather have by my side than Vasilis Hadjisophocle. Together we aim to support our extended family; a global 300+ strong IT team. May the force be with us,” Garyfalos highlighted.

XM provides trading services in a wide range of financial products including FX, Commodities, and Equity Indices. In the past few months, the online trading platform has expanded its products and services to meet the growing demand.

The recently promoted Co-CIO has previously worked with some of the leading names in the financial services industry. He spent time at Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and JP Morgan.

During his time at XM, Garyfalos delivered several transformational projects. In a post earlier this year, Garyfalos highlighted the completion of an ambitious project.

“Over the past 2 years a team of great professionals at XM have worked extremely hard to deliver an ambitious transformational project. A project that moved the firm’s infrastructure to the cloud, handled demanding business timelines and changed the mindset of hundreds of engineers. This project was completed this week as Trading.com US was launched. It was a proud moment. A moment that I have personally been looking forward to celebrating with a post in this forum since the very beginning,” Garyfalos highlighted in that post.
