AEW Dynamite Results After Tony Khan’s Non-Announcement

AEW Dynamite advertised another major announcement from Tony Khan on the heels of AEW Collision being announced at the Warner Bros Discovery Upfronts.

Dynamite also advertised Jungle Boy Jack Perry vs. Rush and Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin vs. Big Bill and Lee Moriarty.

Tony Khan had his carny hat on this week. After reminding fans of AEW’s upcoming tour schedule, Khan’s major announcement was to wait until next week for another AEW announcement regarding AEW Collision.

Last week’s broadcast of AEW Dynamite garnered 877,000 viewers.

Wardlow Calls Out Christian

Wardlow, who appeared without Arn Anderson, was dressed like an Human Resources consultant on casual Friday.

Wardlow fended off Christian and Luchasaurus as best as he could before Christian introduced a ladder and laid him out with it. Some fans seemed swayed by Christian after his use of the ladder.

Opening Segment Grade: B

Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy vs. Lee Moriarty and Big Bill

Austin, Texas was over the moon for opening match Orange, but moreso Darby Allin.

Following his latest win, Orange Cassidy continued to sell his many injuries in a backstage interview. As great as Orange Cassidy has made the AEW International Championship look, sadly his day is coming.

Allin-Cassidy vs. Moriarty- Big Bill Grade: B

Sammy Guevara Def. Exodus Prime

All three pillars were in action tonight with the exception of MJF, of course, but after a quick match, Guevara essentially worked the the same schedule as MJF.

After his win, Guevara cut a babyface promo and these fans were polite at best.

Guevara vs. Exodus Prime Grade: C+

Karen Jarrett Debuts

Sonjay Dutt walked out with matching guitars for Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, then when FTR attacked, Dutt politely put the guitars down to check on Satnam Singh, who had gone through a table.

During the brawl, Jay Lethal had most of his clothes ripped off and was basically in his drawers.

Karen Jarrett crashed the brawl, delivering a truly terrible low blow but getting a ton of heat.

Karen Jarrett Debut Segment: B

The Outcasts Def. Hikaru Shida and Britt Baker

Hikaru Shida was easily the most over wrestler of this entire match, especially when she got going on offense.

I was surprised to see Britt baker take yet another loss, especially so soon after the return of Hikaru Shida.

Women’s Tag Team Grade: B

Chris Jericho vs. Roderick Strong

This match started with Roderick Strong pouncing on Jericho prematurely while he still had his jacket on, and the crowd did not take kindly to it, especially because they were still singing Judas.

Despite being a falls count anywhere match, most of this action happened in the ring. But when AEW came back from break, they were in the concourse area where AEW fans chanted “Y2J!”

Though Adam Cole was banned from the building, he was well within his rights to attack Chris Jericho the second Jericho left the building.

Amazingly, it was still broad daylight at 8:15 pm local time in Texas.

Jericho vs. Roderick Strong Grade: B

Jungle Boy def. Rush

Jungle Boy was bleeding from his head, apparently hard way, when AEW came back from commercial break.

With the exception of MJF, it feels like ever since the Pillars storyline began, every single pillar is less over. I wouldn’t be surprised with a Jungle Boy heel turn in the future.

Jungle Boy took a scary bump off the apron and referee Bryce Remsburg signaled to the doctor that Jack Perry was miraculously okay.

Future heel Jungle Boy won by grabbing Rush’s trunks.

Fans chanted for Sammy Guevara and he received a warm babyface reaction when he made the save. After making the save, all three pillars showed respect for each other, which doesn’t matter at all because it’s every man for itself. This has been a truly terrible angle from a storytelling standpoint.

Jungle Boy vs. Rush Grade B-
