AC Milan Interested In Signing Raphinha From FC Barcelona

AC Milan are interested in signing Raphinha from FC Barcelona.

The Brazil international arrived at Camp Nou in the summer as part of a transfer from Leeds United believed to be worth around €60mn ($64.4mn).

Amid bids from the likes of PremierPINC
League giants Chelsea, Raphinha dug his heels in and waited until Barca had activated an ‘economic lever’ that would make his dream move possible.

A few months on, after an unflattering Qatar 2022 World Cup campaign with the Selecao, Raphinha is possibly on his way out of Catalonia in the coming transfer windows.

Barca are aware that they can recover their outlay on Raphinha in the Premier League where the 26-year-old already boasts experience.

Yet according to SPORT via Calciomercato, AC Milan are also interested in potentially acquiring Raphinha’s services later this year and could look to sign before the 2023/2024 season.

Barca are said to still have faith in Raphinha’s potential, but the truth is the winger is failing to convince Xavi Hernandez he is worthy of starting on the right flank where Ousmane Dembele is in fine form. Whenever Raphinha has started, he has often failed to complete a full 90 minutes and is routinely hooked around the hour mark.

Trying Raphinha on the opposite wing, which has not been secured by Ferran Torres or Ansu Fati either, also hasn’t gone to plan. And it is believed that should Barca have to lower their salary limit by €200mn ($218mn) ahead of next term, Raphinha could be one of the first players put on the market.

With around four months left in the regular season, Raphinha still has time to turn things round as Barca continue in their push for La Liga and cup trophies such as the Copa del Rey and Europa League.

Raphinha has traveled to Riyadh with the first team squad ahead of their Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Real Betis on Thursday where victory will grant a final meeting with either Real Madrid or Valencia at the weekend.
