A Crypto Whale offered NFT cynics $10,000 to Try Ethereum

  • Jordan Fish, also known as Cobie, offered $10,000 to many Twitter users who voiced anti-crypto views in reaction to a tweetstorm he tweeted this weekend.
  • Cobie targets steam and discussed the gaming community’s hostility to NFT technology.

“Gamers’ displeasure with the rise of NFTs is a significant surprise vote against self-interest,” he remarked. “What gamer wouldn’t want to own their own in-game progress and achievements?” It appears to be only advantageous for customers to own such items themselves, rather than for the game company to keep control.”

Cobie is a co-host on UpOnly, a prominent bitcoin podcast. He is also reported to have developed a substantial portfolio of Ethereum and other digital assets in the industry over the period of several years.

NFTs, also known as non-fungible tokens, have the potential to disrupt the gaming industry by allowing players to own their in-game assets.

While many large firms have looked to use NFTs as they have gained pace in the previous year, the technology has divided gamers and gaming companies. Steam, the world’s largest gaming platform, removed crypto games and NFTs from its marketplace in October.

Steam, the well-known gaming company, and digital platform said that it will restrict NFTs and crypto games from its platform. Ubisoft, on the other hand, declared that it will be giving NFTs through Ubisoft Quartz, despite the fact that many users expressed their dissatisfaction with the company.

I’ll pay $10000: Cobie

Because Ethereum currently uses a Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism, several critics have linked NFTs with environmental issues as they have gained traction in recent months.

Cobie returned to one of the responders and offered them $10,000 in exchange for listening to his arguments. “I’ll pay you $10,000 to say cheers if you have an Ethereum address,” he responded.“I don’t have an Ethereum wallet and have no plans to get one, but thank you.” I’m going to put a stop to this.“
