Sling TV integrates crypto payments for its monthly subscription plans

Recently, it is observed that the adoption continues as Sling TV has announced that it accepts digital assets in exchange for its monthly subscription plans. Sling TV subscribers can use crypto payments

Sling TV is a subsidiary of Dish Network. Last week, Dish Network announced that it has partnered with BitPay, an Atlanta-based crypto payments firm. And now Sling TV subscribers could also use digital currency to pay for their monthly subscription.

The integration was possible through BitPay, which enabled their users to select and pay for their favorite digital streaming service with their preferred cryptocurrency. In the current scenario, the entertainment hub’s supports only Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin.

However, the firm has plans to support a variety of cryptocurrencies for payment. These assets include Bitcoin Cash, Wrapped Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Litecoin, and Shiba Inu. Meanwhile, the platform will also allow its users to pay via stablecoins pegged with several fiat currencies including DAI, USDC, USDP, GUSD, and BUSD.

Cryptocurrency adoption helped attract more users

According to some reports, Sling TV as the firm integrated crypto payments in exchange for its services, and the total count of subscribers skyrocketed. Late last month, the total count of subscribers surpassed the benchmark level of 2.5 million.

However, currently the payment option is only for registered users. New users looking to subscribe can play with other traditional options.

According to the team behind LSing TV, the main motive behind the latest integration is mainstream crypto assets. The firm believes that digital assets could offer a choice and convenience to its check-out process.
