Popular American hip-hop artist, Rick Ross, recently taunted crypto investors in a recent viral video, stating that he does not believe that they are actually rich.
According to the Maybach Music Group boss, he is not convinced that these online crypto proponents are really making money from investing in digital assets and the metaverse, seeing as they are not flaunting their wealth.
He insisted that “crypto gurus” should show him their wealth to prove it. He said,
“That’s the thing about the boss, the metaverse, crypto, y’all getting so much money, where you at? Show us. And I don’t mean, ‘Oh, I’m trying to get money.’ Man, I got a lot of money. I don’t need that fake money.”
Ross further added that he wants some of the crypto big names to show him evidence of their money-making moves. He added,
“Show my homies what the metaverse is about. One of y’all big crypto dudes, gurus, crypto picture-takers, step up and say, ‘This is what we are going to do, Rozay.’ Where ya at? All that fake-rich money, where’s it at?
Mixed Reactions
Ross’ video was met with mixed reactions. While some Twitter users argued that Ross was right for calling out crypto investors, crypto proponents noted that real crypto billionaires do not flaunt their wealth or buy bling jewelry.
One user said, “I met a guy last week with Rick Ross’s entire net worth in a single metamask wallet.”
The Crypto Billionaires
Most of the crypto moguls that Ross called out are more likely to spend their money on high-value NFTs with millions of dollars than on expensive jewelry.
Some of crypto’s richest people include Binance’s CEO, Changpeng Zhao, who has a net worth of $65 billion. He is closely followed by Sam Bankman-Fried, the CEO of FTX, with a net worth of $24 billion.
Another notable crypto billionaire is Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase with a net worth of $6.6 billion. Armstrong recently splurged $133 million on a Bel-Air mansion, one of the city’s priciest home transactions to date.
Interestingly, some of these billionaires, including Changpeng Zhao and Sam Bankman-Fried, have revealed that they intend to give away up to 99% of their wealth in the end.
