ParallelChain, a public + private layer-1 blockchain protocol today announced that the first ParallelChain Testnet is now live.
ParallelChain Testnet Goes Live
Founded in 2018, ParallelChain is designed to bring rapid, secure, and reliable blockchains to enterprises for the digital economy.
ParallelChain is committed to constantly implement new, innovative functionalities and features and to that effect, has launched the first ParallelChain Testnet.
The ParallelChain Testnet will be the testing ground for all new features and implementations introduced by ParallelChain. Notably, the project will have 4 Testnets before the Mainnet launch.
For the uninitiated, the ParallelChain Testnets allow developers and users to develop and run smart contracts on ParallelChain and experiment the blockchain without paying anything extra for the same.
What Does the Testnet Offer?
The newly-launched ParallelChain Testnet 1 offers support for Turing-complete WASM smart contracts with a Rust SDK. Users can freely create and run smart contracts on the Testnet or simply play around and explore the blockchain and world state through its Explorer.
For the uninitiated, an Explorer is essentially a tool that allows users to inspect transactions, blocks, addresses, and other key information. For example, Etherscan for Ethereum transactions, and so on.
For the ones who are more well-versed with tech, they can use ParallelChain’s light client (called pchain) in interact with the Testnet 1 node.
Notably, the native TXPLL token powers the ParallelChain Testnet 1 and users can request the same via a Faucet. However, it should be noted that the TXPLL token exists for test purposes only and does not have any real value.
Interested individuals can learn how to participate in ParallelChain Testnet 1 by going through the documentation here.
An excerpt from the official announcement reads:
“We’ve tried to provide as much information as possible in Documentation, but we know you will have questions. For technical queries or issues, drop them in our Telegram group (https://t.me/parallelchainofficial) or the Testnet-1 Discord channel (https://discord.gg/ea2WtnadgE) so we can get them on our radar and resolved. For questions that are more visionary and future oriented, best save them for the upcoming AMA with our engineers!”
According to ParallelChain’s official roadmap, the ParallelChain Mainnet launch is expected to occur sometime in Q4 2022.
