Here’s the side of crypto, which even opponents might appreciate

Cryptocurrencies might have some complications and flaws in themselves but this report is about a resident of Afghanistan who found hope in crypto when all his efforts in other systems went in vain

  • The country which faced many worse situations while ‘Taliban’ was in rule, got rid of it for almost 20 years, but now again it slipped into the complications
  • Reports stated that Afghanistan and its residents are passing through very tough times in terms of almost all types of services and basic amenities are hard to get
  • Recently an interview of a local Afghani resident, whose story and experience about how crypto solved his many problems and he decided to promote it.

For us, it’s easy to sit in the comfort zone of our home or working space and comment to put our views on crypto, either in support or against it. But there’s another perspective we should consider about incidents like how crypto is helping people in terrible situations where they are somehow able to manage their livelihoods.

A local young man in Afghanistan whose identity is kept anonymous here told about his tough times in Afghanistan and how crypto helped him to some extent to pass through.

Following his vision, he and his friend decided to start blogging to earn money. He figured out and prepared almost everything he would need for his blogging, from what he would do and which niche he would choose. The only thing remaining was to decide how he would get paid, and that was needed to figure out when you are in a country like Afghanistan where basic services were not that smooth. Before he could think of anything, the situation went worse with the return back of the Taliban.

They started blogging in 2018 but didn’t get anything in the capital, just some work learning. He also made some $700 by affiliate marketing but never got it because it would need Paypal which he did not have in reach.

With expanding their learning they came in contact with crypto in 2020 and thought of it as a portal to get their money which gave them hope. They did continue and till 2021 they were working with some crypto outlets and getting paid in cryptocurrencies. He finally made his payments and got paid after so many unsuccessful efforts, all made possible because of crypto. He said that he wouldn’t be here if the digital currency were not there.

And then everyone knows the Taliban took control of Afghanistan and the outcomes were obvious. Many payment gateways were blocked as companies stopped operating. The Situation was so bad that the country’s currency went from 77 afghanis per dollar to 125 afghanis, the price almost went double, and due to this people started fleeing from the country, the world has seen that.

The person who started blogging for the sake of making money soon became the sole income provider for his family of nine, as everyone out there lost their jobs. But the Taliban did not ban crypto and that worked out well for him making him earn and easy to arrange livelihood. Looking at the scope of crypto and blockchain technology and as it helped him a lot, he decided to bring the life-changing opportunity to others who might need it and get something out of it as he did.

He reached out to some of his friends and taught them about crypto as much as he could. His friends seek the knowledge and turn it into opportunity, one of them became a crypto-journalist for a firm and earned in cryptocurrencies and other friends learn to trade. He is also looking to form a crypto outlet in the local language so that illiteracy in the region won’t stop people from taking advantage of crypto. Many local residents received some money as help, it became easy because of crypto as well, which was earlier either hard for them to get and also way expensive than using crypto exchanges.
