Crypto Royale: free-to-play or yet another scam?

Crypto Royale is a browser-based battle royale in which players compete for fame, glory, and even a decent profit. The project received a Harmony Grant in 2021 and is growing rapidly. Indeed, it currently has a community of more than 70,000 players.

The game involves no upfront investment from users, no downloads, and no memberships to enjoy the platform. Indeed, Crypto Royale, among other things, is famous for being a totally free game.

Battles and games within Crypto Royale last thirty seconds, run directly and entirely within the browser, and allow ROY tokens collected by users to be sold and withdrawn quickly and easily.

In Crypto Royale it is easy to play: the last one standing wins.

First of all, however, an arena and a skin must be chosen. In the case of the arena, the platform provides three different options: a “training” arena, to train against bots and earn reduced rewards; a “ranked” arena, where you fight other users for rewards, ratings, achievements and more; and a “staked” arena, where you buy and then start competing, so that you get increased rewards.

Another way to earn income in Crypto Royale, is to choose the skin you are going to play with. In this case, you earn passive income by purchasing your favorite skin. Thus, you have a chance to help your clan but also to win more ROY tokens.

The other rules of the game are quite simple and intuitive, you enter the battlefield with a color: blue, purple or yellow. There are collision rules: blue defeats purple, purple defeats yellow and yellow in turn defeats blue. So, it is necessary to be careful what color you collide with.

There are boxes inside the field, which can change the player’s color as needed and, in addition, provide health. In fact, every time you lose or win against an opponent, it decreases or increases your health status by 50%.

Finally, there is a darkness within the battlefield, which can either kill the player or be the best option for them as the case may be. It is important to remember that it is essential to be above 25HP for each player

The token of Crypto Royale: ROY

Royale (ROY) is a multi-chain token and the currency of Crypto Royale. The maximum token supply is 400 million ROY. The ROY token can be stored in the game wallet or externally on any of the supported blockchains (Harmony, Polygon, and soon Avalanche).

Beyond the game, the ROY currency has been causing some concern in recent days. As a matter of fact, its price is declining this week. Specifically, the price of Crypto Royale has decreased by 93.35% in the past seven days.

The current price is €0.006777 per ROY, with a 24-hour trading volume of $644. Crypto Royale’s price is 96.49% lower than the all-time high of €0.193002. The current outstanding bid is 0 ROY.

What users are saying about Crypto Royale

Unfortunately, the opinions of users and those who have had a chance to delve into the game are not very positive and do not bode well either. There are also those who are suspicious, as they do not believe in the easy, no-cost gain that Crypto Royale promises.

Most websites, therefore, consider Crypto Royale a 100% scam

For several reasons: first of all, Crypto Royale provides the classic fictitious address, in England, this time the real headquarters of a residential condominium.

The supposed English location does not correspond to any kind of registration, let alone, FCA License for trading. Thus, we are dealing, for the umpteenth time, with a broker with a fake address and a ghost company behind it.

In addition, Crypto Royal Group presents several “additional services,” such as a Bitcoin spinner, i.e., a service to clean up one’s Bitcoin, as well as a kind of Roulette to get Bitcoin for free. The problem is that these kinds of services have nothing to do with a serious cryptocurrency broker and are illegal throughout Europe.

However, the most doubting factor on the net is the easy money Crypto Royale offers to users, with an annual return of 200%. Basically, it seems to be a truly exorbitant figure, suggesting it is nothing short of a straightforward scam where to lose capital.

In addition, it appears that the website owner uses a service to hide his identity on WHOIS and his SSL certificate appears to be invalid (Xolphin).

Specifically, Crypto Royale has been flagged as a possible scam by Malware and Scamadviser, according to Tranco it has a low Alexa score and has been flagged as a threat by DNSFilter in the last 30 days
