- CoinMarketCap has announced the first-ever CMC Crypto Awards, which will recognize the most innovative projects in the space and the people making a difference and moving the industry ahead.
- CMC will start revealing the nominees on Feb. 22, with the voting ongoing until Mar. 3, with the winners selected from the votes, an expert committee and CMC data.
CoinMarketCap, the world’s premier crypto data and insights platform, has announced the first-ever CMC Crypto Awards, which will recognize the most outstanding projects in the crypto world and the people behind them.
Billed as the “Oscars of Crypto,” the awards will provide an entertaining and rewarding way to bring the entire crypto industry together to recognize and honor some of the people tirelessly working to change the world through crypto, NFTs, blockchain, metaverse and Web3.
The awards will be divided into eight intensely competitive categories. These include ‘Crypto of the Year,’ which will recognize the most overall impactful project in the past year, irrespective of how big or small its market capitalization is.
Other categories include:
- Meme coin of the year.
- Most innovative NFT and gaming project.
- Most innovative DeFi project.
- Most innovative L1/L2/cross-chain project.
The awards will also recognize personalities, with the ‘Crypto Leader of the Year’ going to the most visionary person who had the most significant role in shaping crypto in the past year. With Reddit, Twitter, and other social media platforms critical to enabling discourse in crypto, the awards will also recognize the ‘Social Influencer of the Year.’
Starting Feb. 21, CoinMarketCap will begin to reveal the names of the nominees, allowing their fans to cast their votes until noon UST Mar. 3. The winners will be selected based on a combination of the votes, CMC data and an independent committee composed of crypto experts.
CMC will reveal the winners on Mar. 6 in a live event that will be live-streamed on YouTube, and each award will be minted as an NFT that will forever live on the blockchain as proof of the winners’ contribution to the world of crypto.
