CZ congratulated Charles Hoskinson at the end of a close poll.

Binance’s Changpeng Zhao congratulated Cardano’s Charles Hoskinson, as a recent poll named him the most influential person in crypto this year.

The Binance chief applauded the Cardano founder in a tweet on Thursday.

The poll by whalechart.org (@WhaleChart), a Twitter account dedicated to crypto news with over 200,000 followers, saw a close race between CZ and Hoskinson. However, after over 36,000 votes, the Cardano founder managed to edge CZ with 2% of the votes. Hoskinson won with 36% of the votes against 34% obtained by CZ.

Others mentioned in the 4 man poll were Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin and disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, gaining 11% and 18% of the votes, respectively.

Hoskinson, in response, described it as a “tough” vote, opting to call a tie between himself and CZ.

“It was a tough one,” Hoskinson tweeted. “I think we’ll call it a draw.”

Meanwhile, the poll results show a stark contrast to CoinDesk’s 100 most influential ranking. Notably, only Buterin, who takes the last place in this poll, features in the CoinDesk list. CZ, Hoskinson, and SBF were excluded, per the list in October, to the surprise of many.

Hoskinson, at the time, expressed that he was not surprised. Notably, the Cardano founder has never been considered for the list in its at least 7-year-long history. The Input Output Global founder has often trolled the news outlet for its non-existent, negative, and misleading coverage of Cardano.

Meanwhile, MBLM, this year, in its brand intimacy report, ranked Cardano as the foremost crypto brand.
