As a leading maritime and logistics provider in the Middle East, Milaha focuses on delivering integrated transport and supply chain solutions. In addition, Qatar Open Innovation (QOI) announced seven winning innovation partnership programs from KAHRAMAA, Ooredoo, Milaha, and Sidra Medicine.

Commenting on the awards, Haya Al-Ghanim, RDI Program Director at the QRDI Council, expressed her pride in recognizing the proposed solutions of the seven selected projects for this round of the Qatar Open Innovation program. She emphasized that these projects embody the spirit of innovation, which is critical to fulfilling the objectives established by Qatar National Vision 2030. With forward-thinking ideas and creative solutions, the Council believes Qatar’s economy can be reinforced, its global competitiveness bolstered, and a bright future enabled.

The Qatar Open Innovation Program is a pioneering initiative to foster innovation partnerships for government entities and Large Local Enterprises in Qatar, thus strengthening the nation’s innovation ecosystem. This program has been integral in promoting innovation in the country and creating an enabling environment for innovators and entrepreneurs to find solutions to complex challenges via open innovation.

Furthermore, the Innovation Program has been a primary platform for startups and innovators to demonstrate their products and solutions that address pressing issues in Qatar. Through this opportunity, innovators have collaborated with leading organizations, industry specialists, and mentors to develop and grow their concepts. Ultimately, the program has made it easier for entrepreneurs and innovators to bring their ideas to fruition.

Since its inception, the Qatar Open Innovation program has received over 350 submissions from innovators worldwide. These challenges ranged across various sectors: health, energy, environment, transport, education, and smart cities. Recently, the program announced 116 proposals from 34 countries for the innovation call for Hassad Food. Among these were two that were awarded the winning partnerships.

Additionally, the program has launched various challenge calls, such as “Future of Food,” “Energy Efficiency,” “Smart Transport,” and “Smart City Challenge.” These calls seek to address specific issues and invite innovators to submit their solutions.
