Twitter Adds on New Feature Showcasing Trading Prices; Bitcoin and Ethereum Added

Twitter

Ever since centibillionaire Elon Musk took over Twitter, it remained the hot topic within the mainstream conversations. Now the social media platform is reported to include another feature focusing on crypto. Twitter users can see Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) prices on the search simply by searching their names or tickers in the search tab.

Twitter Pushing the New Trading Price Feature

On December 22, Twitter Business in its tweet announced a new feature dubbed as ‘$Cashtags’. The trading price feature is said to be an upgrade of the same.

In further tweets, the account explained that any tweet consisting of a symbol denoting a major stock, exchange-traded fund (ETF) or crypto asset having a ‘$’, will also have a clickable link that will take users to the search results. These search results were said to showcase the pricing graphs for particularly searched symbols.

Further the Twitter thread also highlighted that in addition to clickable links, users could also directly search the trading price of an asset via search bar looking for ticker symbol or the name of stock or crypto. The search result would bring the price along with its price graph.

Elon Musk on the New Feature

Welcoming the feature and adding his thoughts to the feature’s announcement, CEO Elon Musk retweeted noting it as one among many upcoming ‘product improvements’ expected to come over financial Twitter.

By the time, only the major cryptocurrencies Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) were available on Twitter which could be searched and looked for the price. While many would expect that Dogecoin (DOGE) would also have the space but by the time it did not make it to the new feature.

Twitter Business, however, indicated for further updates and expansion in symbols coverage as well as working towards improvement in user experience in near future.

Twitter Users Testing the New Feature

Many users soon after the announcement went on to test the new feature and also gave their opinions. Jane Mastodon Wong, popular tech-blogger with over 158K followers, noted that the charts showcasing the trading prices were trading analysis platform TradingView sourced charts.

Another detail about the feature was pointed out that it includes a link showcasing ‘view on Robinhood’. The clickable link would take the user to the dashboard of Robinhood. Further the buying and trading options could also be chosen from there. However, there were no details if there was any partnership between Twitter and Robinhood.
