  • The school is inaugurated at the singer’s childhood home— Marcy— in Brooklyn.

Superstar singer Jay-Z and Twitter’s founder Jack Dorsey’s business partnership goes back to 2021 when Block, a digital-payments company, run by Jack Dorsey invested in Jay-Z’s tidal streaming service. 

The pair also made it to the news when later they both decided to pool some of their bitcoin holdings to fund the mission to raise awareness and educate Africans and Indians about cryptocurrency and its use.

Then, with the motto, education is power, Jack Dorsey along with Jay-Z founded another venture of theirs known as the Bitcoin Academy.

This is a financial literacy school that aims to educate students across the world free of cost through online mode and in person located inside the singer’s childhood home in Brooklyn, New York City.

What the School Is All About

The website, as mentioned above, claimed to empower the world, especially the youth through education, about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, so that they can push the world towards the future, specifically the financial aspects.

According to sources, the subjects that are going to be taught in the classes by the bitcoin influencers Lamar Wilson and Najah J. Roberts are:

  • What is Money
  • What is Cryptocurrency
  • What is Blockchain
  • How to keep yourself safe from scammers 
  • How to build a financial future

Each student will get every facility needed to educate themselves on the topics. These are provided by Jack Dorsey through the Bitcoin Academy,

Well, People Don’t Like It

Whenever we talk about courses related to cryptocurrencies and bitcoin, people tend to think about a scam or a pyramid scheme. There are many instances when a few young investors get trapped in a scheme because of their greed for earning high returns in a short time frame.

Cryptocurrency is a relatively fresh market. A lot of people don’t have knowledge in this field. This is the reason why many people are not trusting the Bitcoin Academy too.

Despite the mass public disappointment, few people actually like it and they are not wrong. The fact that the academy is not charging for the courses makes it a more legitimate and sincere organization. 

Only time will tell whether this Bitcoin Academy turns out to be a success or a misunderstanding between the founders and the public.
