Bitcoin is a commodity – Gensler

Legislators and industry participants have criticized Gensler’s enforcement-focused approach to regulating the cryptocurrency industry.

He said last month that he had asked SEC employees to improve crypto compliance. He wants to use “one rule book” to regulate the crypto industry.

Numerous individuals have urged him to clarify crypto regulation, but the head of the SEC has insisted that the law is clear. He has stated numerous times that the majority of other cryptocurrency tokens are securities while bitcoin is a commodity.
