Bitcoin Scammer Yuki Inos Sentenced to 71 Months in Prison

Saipan Fraudster Yuki Inos Sentenced for Bitcoin Promises

A US federal court sentenced a Saipan resident scammer to 71 months in prison for defrauding elderly women with bitcoin investment promises. Sze Man Yu Inos, aka Yuki, was convicted of wire fraud. Prosecutors state that the 30-year-old defendant targeted elderly women in Saipan and Guam between November 2020 and January 2022. Yuki deceived her victims by claiming to be from a wealthy Chinese family and achieving great success with bitcoin investments. She built emotional bonds by frequently saying “You’re like my mother” to gain trust, then collected investments with false promises.

Yuki’s Fraud Scheme: Emotional Trap and Expansion

The defendant used this bond with victims to solicit funds for bitcoin investments and later expanded the scheme to Washington and California. This type of romance scams exploits trust through emotional manipulation. The court, in addition to 71 months imprisonment, ordered $769,355 in restitution and a $684,848 personal forfeiture order. US Attorney Anderson emphasized that Yuki continued fraud even during the trial process. FBI and Justice Department are closely monitoring similar cases; although targeting elderly women, losses amount to millions.
