Binance Lists Pixels (PIXEL), Launching with USDT, BTC, BNB Pairs

Binance, the world’s largest crypto by trade volume, has officially launched Pixels (PIXEL). The exchange’s users can now trade PIXEL against supported assets, including USDT and Bitcoin (BTC), and also convert at zero fees.

According to an official announcement, PIXEL will be available as a new borrowable asset on Binance Margin, with PIXEL/USDT on the Cross and Isolated Margin. This is available today, Monday the 19th, from 15:00 (UTC). In addition, perpetual contracts for PIXEL will be available on Binance Futures, with up to 50x leverage.

Binance data currently shows that PIXEL is trading at $4,858, with a 24-hour volume of $257 million. As of writing time, this volume is increasing quite rapidly.

PIXEL Launches on Binance After Raising Nearly $5 Million

Binance introduced PIXEL early this month, announcing that users could farm the token by staking their FDUSD and BNB tokens into separate pools. The initial announcement also added the PIXEL/FDUSD and PIXEL/BNB trading pairs to BTC and USDT.

Pixels is the 46th project on the Binance Launchpool platform. It is a social Web3 game on the Ronin Network, with an ecosystem that combines the play-to-earn (P2E) feature, with Farm Land NFTs, which are player-owned farms and houses in the Pixels metaverse. Players can also customize their farm according to their game progress.

As of February 8th, Binance’s introduction, Pixels had raised $4.8 million over three rounds of private sales that sold the token at $0.005, $0.009, and $0.012, respectively. PIXEL is an ERC-20 token with a total supply of 5,000,000,000. The game has more than 150,000 daily active players and has integrated more than 90 other Web3 projects.

Enjoy Pixels for Free

The Pixels project relies heavily on its community, which it hopes to expand as the token and game become more popular. The game launched in 2021 and was initially built on Polygon before migration to Ronin late last year.

Users play and enjoy the Pixels game for free. Players do not have to own PIXEL tokens or purchase NFTs to play the game. Anyone can sign in with a MetaMask or Ronin wallet, or decide to sign up with only a phone number or an email address. However, there are a few features that might require purchasing tokens. For instance, Pixels has larger NFT land plots than the basic sizes available for free. In addition, players with certain NFTs, as part of Pixels’ many integrations, can use their own profile picture characters for avatars in the game. Supported NFT projects include Pudgy Penguins and the Bored Ape Yacht Club. Furthermore, players can use the Ronin network’s native RON token to buy a VIP pass for additional in-game features.

Before the PIXEL token, the Pixels project featured BERRY, an in-game token it described as a “soft currency”. Players used BERRY to buy and sell farmed items, like PIXEL will now be used. However, the project decided to phase out the BERRY token, announcing that it would be discarded entirely upon the PIXEL launch. Users were allowed to exchange BERRY for PIXEL.
