A new post came from BitMEX former CEO Arthur Hayes, who attracted attention with his bold statements and predictions about Bitcoin (BTC) and the cryptocurrency market.
Making another bold prediction for BTC, Hayes claimed that the uptrend will continue.
In a humorous post, Hayes referred to FED President Jerome Powell’s upcoming speech and interest rate expectations, calling Powell an old white man.
Stating that he was ready to receive gifts, that is, good news, from the old white man, that is, Powell, he said playfully, “I am ready for an old white man to give me gifts.”
At this point, he stated that he expects Powell to make a bold move and reduce interest rates in December and take Bitcoin to new heights.
“It’s December and I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for an old white man to give me gifts: JAYPOW lowered the damn rates and sent BTC to the moon.”

December has historical significance for Bitcoin. While on a monthly basis, December was mostly closed in the negative, Bitcoin completed the fourth quarter in the green zone in eight of the last thirteen years. Especially after the positive closings in October and November, this statistical data increases investors’ bullish expectations for the current month of December.
At this point, the cryptocurrency community is watching to see whether Powell’s statements will indeed push BTC to new highs this December.
