Epic Games has secured $2 Billion in a latest fundraiser led by KIRKBI and Sony Group, Lego’s entertainment and toy brand owner. This declaration was an element of plan to fast-track organization’s vision to make a presence in metaverse.
KIRKBI and Sony have equal investments in this transaction, both shelling out $1 Billion at a post fund net worth of $31.5 Billion. Epic Games founder and CEO, Tim Sweeney, retains command over private entity.
Sony, Playstation manufacturer, also made an investment of $200 Million in Epic Games previous April.
Epic games said that, further $2 Billion cash will be utilized for advancement of organization’s mission of developing metaverse and to back its sustained extension.
Organizations assert that they will shape metaverse’s future to make it secure and joyful for children while also making an immersive virtual environment for youngsters to play in.
Epic Games says that, with its latest funding, 3 organizations will concentrate on development of latest kinds of social entertainment which investigates association between tangible and virtual worlds.
