Temera, Luxochain and Polygon after working in partnership with luxury brand Bulgari, are set to launch a new watch that will make history: Octo Finissimo Ultra, certified on the blockchain.
Bulgari and the limited edition watch on blockchain
We are not talking about a simple luxury product, but about a new wrist jewel that will become the emblem of all the potential and the great advantages that blockchain can bring within the fashion and design industry.
There will be only 10 pieces of this new Bulgari watch.
The luxury maison is proving to be at the forefront; a brand able to create a real bridge between the real and virtual worlds, between past and future.
Octo Finissimo Ultra is a mechanical watch connected to a new dimension.
This product is a global ecosystem that opens the door to new worlds; its mechanisms defy the laws of physics and extend into a non-physical world.
The QR code for exploring
Temera, Luxochain and Polygon in partnership with Bulgari have come up with the idea of engraving a QR code on the ratchet wheel of the barrel of the wearable watch, as if it were a sort of gateway.
This QR code is in fact in effect the key tool that allows the owner to embark on a journey, a digital path that illustrates the history and the fundamental steps in the manufacture of the object itself.
The experience includes videos and photos of the production process as well as sketches and special interviews.
In this exclusive space there are making-of segments, a 3D virtual tour of the movement and an exploration of the watch’s visible/invisible concept.
The CEO of Bulgari, Jean-Christophe Babin, commented on the release of this new product as follows:
“This fabulous milestone we are setting today with the Octo Finissimo Ultra is – for me and for all the team – the realization of a dream. Bulgari will forever be recognized as the author of some of the finest chapters in Swiss watchmaking and the fact that the Maison is Italian makes us particularly proud”.
NFT and certificate of ownership
Ultra customers will therefore not only own an eclectic Bulgari wristwatch but also a non-fungible token that is inextricably linked to the watch.
The combination of the energies of all these very different teams has created this NFT that is inseparable from the physical product.
A non-fungible token that represents a guarantee of authenticity and uniqueness, together with the certificate of ownership of the product itself.
Bulgari, Temera and Luxochain have also applied for a patent, Bulgari Singularity, in which the product and the NFT are bound together in a third contract, called “Singularity”, which establishes the indissolubility of the physical object, including its serial number recorded in a contract on the blockchain, and the product’s NFT, with its unique and immutable information.
Guido Mengoni, CMO of Temera, commented on their participation in the project as follows:
“We are honoured to be part of this innovative project that combines new market needs and emerging technologies. The goal of creating a unique and valuable experience for the brand and the watch owner is achieved by reinventing in digital form the distinctive combination of noble traditional craftsmanship with all the creativity, entrepreneurship and passion of the brand, looking to the future”.
Davide Baldi, CEO of Luxochain, also released a statement:
“We are very proud of this strategic initiative. Our goal is to protect the brand reputation by creating digital footprints for each product, improving both loyalty and reward processes between brands and end users. With our system, available for both iOS and Android, any purchaser can use their smartphone to verify the authenticity of any product, in-store and online, or in the growing secondary market. At the time of purchase, the user will then receive the relevant certificate of authenticity and ownership, registered on the blockchain, embedded in the product itself”.
In conclusion, it can be said that with the launch of this new product, the team of Temera, Polygon and Luxochain, with the support of Bulgari, have in some ways created a new standard of non-fungible token.
