Charles Hoskinson, the founder of the Cardano blockchain, reacted to Solana’s latest hackathon update called Grizzlython by seemingly mocking the concept on Twitter. In the tweet today, the Cardano founder responded using a GIF content of Mike Tyson and wrote, “Grizzlython, you say?”
The crypto space has observed that the Cardano and Solana communities have been long-term adversaries. Last year, Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko criticized Cardano developers for being overly cautious in their approach, and Hoskinson fired back at the Solana team.
Reportedly, the Cardano founder made it a point to always troll the Solana network whenever the opportunity arises — as he recently described the blockchain as an old Nintendo console.
Regarding the latest Solana hackathon, the blockchain promotes Grizzlython as a fight against the bear market by building the next big Web 3 project on Solana. According to official reports, it will be an online competition billed to run till March 14.
Solana believes that participants can go from “idea to fully-fledged project” in 6 weeks, as winners will get a chance to pitch to investors at an exclusive demo day event. Notably, participants will compete in 7 tracks with a chance to win $5 million in prizes. The categories of the competition include mobile, decentralized finance (DeFi), payments, tools & infrastructure, gaming, and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs).
Additionally, each category will have five winners, with prizes from $10,000 to $30,000, and there will be a grand champion with unique climate and university awards, with different cash prizes.
While the tournament itself takes place online, locals in different locations will build coworking spaces to facilitate communication and collaboration among competitors.
