World Mobile recently announced its “strategic partnership” with the internet service provider Adaptive Broadband, marking the establishment of the network’s services to the rural regions of the United States. According to a press release on the Businesswire, the alliance intends to integrate World Mobile’s decentralized Airnode infrastructure into the existing wireless ISP network of Adaptive Broadband.
With this groundbreaking move, World Mobile has witnessed the beginning of its commercial operations in the US, especially in the rural areas surrounding Adaptive Broadband’s locale, Salem. On October 4, World Mobile shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), drawing the community’s attention to the platform’s initiative.
World Mobile’s Chief Business Officer, Charles Barnett expressed the platform’s enthusiasm for partnering with the internet service provider having more than 15 years of experience in providing convenient services in the pastoral lands of Oregon. He cited,
We are delighted to partner with Adaptive Broadband, a pioneer in rural wireless internet service provision. This partnership demonstrates the power and potential of our AirNode technology and sharing economy model, which can unlock new revenue streams for ISPs and new connectivity options for customers. We look forward to expanding our presence in the USA and other markets with similar opportunities.
Adaptive Broadband CEO J. Michael Heil also expressed his excitement about their partnership with World Mobile, believing that the alliance would secure the enhancement of “service delivery and customer satisfaction”. He added, “We are proud to be part of their mission to connect the unconnected and under-connected communities around the world”.
Notably, the collaboration facilitates Adaptive Broadband’s subscribers to leverage the services of World Mobile, providing them access to cellular coverage and Over-The-Top (OTT) services. It also intends the enhancement of the connectivity options, escalating the “one-play” ISP to a “three-play” ISP. In addition, over 70 of Adaptive Broadband’s radios, hotspots, and towers would be converted for being validated by AYA, World Mobile’s blockchain technology.
