Bitcoin (BTC) has had a generally good year in 2025. It has broken records one after another, most recently reaching a new ATH of over $126,000 in early October.
Bitcoin, which has been facing sharp declines since its last ATH, fell below $100,000 this week.
The situation is not much different for altcoins, as many continue to remain below their previous ATHs.
Galaxy Research analyzed the top 100 cryptocurrencies, reporting that 72 of the top 100 cryptocurrencies remain more than 50% below their all-time highs.
According to the analysis, altcoins such as Filecoin (FIL), Internet Computer (ICP), The Graph (GRT), Celestia (TIA), and Tezos (XTZ) experienced the sharpest declines.
Apart from these, popular altcoins such as Polkadot (DOT), Avalanche (AVAX), Cardano (ADA), and TRUMP also experienced sharp declines.
In comparison, only a few cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, XRP, Etheruem (ETH), Binance Coin (BNB), and Unus Sed Leo (LEO) recorded smaller losses.
According to the analysis, XRP, Tron (TRX), HYPE, XMR, BNB, ETH, BTC, and LEO were among the altcoins that suffered the least losses, with losses below 40%.
