- After a clean break over $1,350 and $1,400, Ethereum picked up steam.
- There is no relationship between Poloniex and Poland.
The network has launched its ninth shadow fork to test Ethereum’s impending move from a proof-of-work consensus paradigm. Ethereum has been experiencing a series of test forks replicating the data from the main network to a test environment network in preparation for its fusion with the proof-of-stake Beacon Chain.
After a clean break over $1,350 and $1,400, Ethereum picked up steam. ETH broke over the $1,500 barrier level to continue its upward trend. It climbed over the $1,550 barrier level and settled above the 100-hour SMA. Vitalik Buterin tweeted a fun tidbit about Poloniex and BitMEX to see whether his fans were as confused as he was.
Confusion Cleared by Buterin
Poloniex is a worldwide crypto exchange based in Seychelles founded in 2014. There are already more than 100 markets accessible for spot trading on the platform as of February 2020. Poloniex is available on the web, Android, iOS, Websocket, and HTTP APIs. There is no relationship between Poloniex and Poland even though the first few alphabets point to Poland.
Is anyone else *still* confused by the fact that Poloniex has nothing to do with Poland, and BitMEX has nothing to do with Mexico?

Bitcoin derivatives trading platform BitMEX is also a cryptocurrency exchange located in Seychelles. HDR Global Trading Limited owns and operates it. When Arthur Hayes, Ben Delo, and Samuel Reed launched BitMEX in 2014, they did it with help from family and friends.
According to a tweet from ETH’s co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, BitMEX, even though its name ends in MEX, which to the average person would indicate Mexico, it has no connection to Mexico. As a result of Buterin’s work, many people worldwide now know that MEX does not refer to Mexico and has no link between Poloniex and Poland.
