Popular crypto wallet and payments app Zypto App highlights how someone used Shiba Inu to pay a $5,000 bill at a dental clinic in the United States.
Zypto App shared the development recently in an X post. According to the post, the patient, whose identity remains unknown at the time of writing, ‘paid for a nicer smile’ with Shiba Inu via the Zypto App.
Despite noting that the dental clinic is based in the United States, Zypto did not reveal the name of the clinic. Notably, the crypto payments provider teased that users can also leverage its solution to pay their AMEX (American Express) bill too for a bigger smile.
Payment Process
Paying a dental bill with Shiba Inu on Zypto follows the same simple steps as settling any other invoice in the app. The process involves navigating to ‘Bill Payments’ on the Zypto App and selecting the supported biller–the dental clinic in this case.
Afterward, the user selects Shiba Inu as the crypto they intend to pay with and enters the amount. Upon confirming the transaction, the user can click ‘Pay’ to initiate the payment. Once initiated, Zypto completes the payment within 48 hours by immediately converting the Shiba Inu to fiat currency and depositing it into the merchant’s account.
For every transaction, users pay a processing fee of $5, plus an additional 3% of the payment amount. With Zypto, users do not need to first convert their Shiba Inu to fiat before paying for real-world services like dental treatment. The conversion happens after the user has completed the payment from their end.
Zypto Supports Shiba Inu
Launched in May 2024, Zypto is an all-in-one cryptocurrency wallet and payments app that aims to drive the mass adoption of crypto assets. Through its payment solution, users can spend their crypto assets using their Zypto physical or virtual cards.
Zypto App provides the infrastructure to enable merchants to accept crypto payments. Currently, the crypto payment provider supports over 21,000 merchants in the United States and several others across various parts of the world.
It supports more than 100 cryptocurrencies, including Shiba Inu ecosystem tokens like SHIB, BONE, and LEASH. The crypto payment provider also supports Shiba Inu’s Layer-2 blockchain Shibarium and the ecosystem’s decentralized exchange, ShibaSwap.
The recent development highlights Shiba Inu’s expanding utility in real-world services. Last year, Crypto Basic reported that Amoré Orthodontic Aligners, a Michigan-based dental company, accepts Shiba Inu as a payment method for its various dental services, including teeth whitening kits and braces.
