Treasure DAO to Vote on Moving Web3 Games to ZKsync Network

  • Treasure DAO will vote to decide whether to migrate its Web3 gaming from Arbitrum to ZKsync.
  • Karel Vuong noted that ZKsync’s technology better fits Treasure’s decentralized gaming.

Treasure DAO is set to vote on a proposal that could move its Web3 gaming ecosystem from Arbitrum to ZKsync. The vote, scheduled to begin on September 17, will determine if the DAO should approve this migration. The proposal suggests that ZKsync’s technology is better suited for Treasure’s long-term goals in decentralized gaming.

Today, the Treasure core team, along with Matter Labs and the ZKsync Foundation, proposed moving Treasure to the ZKsync Elastic Chain and launching it as an L2 on the ZK Stack, replacing Arbitrum Orbit.

Treasure’s Web3 ecosystem currently operates on Arbitrum, but the proposal outlines a plan to shift to ZKsync’s ZK Stack technology. If approved, Treasure’s testnet will transition from Arbitrum to ZKsync’s new testnet before the mainnet launch by mid-November.

Karel Vuong, a co-founder of Treasure, emphasized that ZKsync’s solution aligns with their vision for a decentralized gaming ecosystem. He said:

“As we advanced our own L2 solution, it became clear that ZKsync’s technology stack aligns more closely with our mission to build a decentralized gaming ecosystem capable of mass adoption.”

Impact of Migration Proposal on Treasure’s Ecosystem

Previously, Vuong supported the “Gaming Catalyst Program,” advocating for Arbitrum DAO to allocate ARB tokens to incentivize game development on its blockchain. Although Arbitrum DAO approved this proposal, the value of ARB tokens has decreased significantly since then.

Moreover, the migration proposal will be voted on by holders of Treasure’s native token, MAGIC. This decision will impact Treasure’s ecosystem, which includes over ten games.

ZKsync‘s new governance model features a decentralized system with a Token Assembly, Security Council, and Guardians to balance power and boost involvement.

The outcome of the upcoming vote will be crucial for shaping the future of Treasure’s Web3 gaming ecosystem and its alignment with the evolving technology of ZKsync.
