One of the trusted cryptocurrency services and cryptocard providers announced the start of bankruptcy proceedings.
In March 2025, Trastra users received an email stating:
Years of crypto-to-fiat services
Launched in
2017 in London, UK, Trastra managed to gain high user adoption and trust.
Trastra was one of the best crypto-friendly services for many years, offering crypto and fiat wallets, debit cards and SEPA transfers to its customers. It aimed to facilitate cryptocurrency spending with a frictionless registration and KYC application, a user-friendly app and a VISA card that can be used for payments and withdrawals.
The history of slow fading away
In 2021, Trastra’s VISA debit card was one of the best services available for European users. Users receive a debit card along with a personal IBAN for instant transactions, as reported by Coinidol.com in the cryptocurrency card overview.
In recent years, however, customers began to notice problems with the service. On February 14, 2024, the TRASTRA Visa cards stopped working. The service was switched to a new banking partner. Users were advised to activate a new IBAN.
Later, on December 1, 2024, the service reported the deactivation of the joint IBAN accounts and the availability of the new TRASTRA cards with personal IBAN from December 12, 2024.
Nevertheless, many customers noticed the deterioration of customer support in 2024. And finally, several reports of frozen or unavailable customer funds have been
reported in recent months.
On January 2, 2025,
a document was signed regarding the termination of Roman Potemkin’s activities as a person with significant control on December 27, 2024.
Roman Potemkin said that all creditors will be compensated, but by June 2025 investors report that they still do not have access to their funds. The Trastra website and app continue to function and offer new users the opportunity to sign up, but no updates or new statements have been reported.
