TrueUSD has fallen victim to a third-party security breach that compromised the personally identifiable information of some of its customers. TrueCoin, which provided TrueUSD’s banking, customer onboarding, and product management services, was responsible for the breach, which exposed names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, bank names, transaction histories, and blockchain account public addresses. TrueCoin stated that it has no logs of the attacker downloading, altering, or removing personally identifiable information from its systems. TrueUSD advised customers to monitor their accounts for any suspicious activity and to beware of phishing attacks.
