TemDAO, a world heritage project powered by its native token ($TEM), is making notable donations for preservation efforts in Ukraine, Turkey, and other regions worldwide. The project aims to protect and preserve cultural assets through donations and democratic governance, ensuring the long-term sustainability of global cultural sites.
Recognizing the significance of preserving the world’s shared cultural history, TemDAO has implemented an innovative strategy for protecting world heritage and cultural assets. The project empowers individuals and organizations to stimulate projects that preserve these important resources.
One of TemDAO’s current initiatives involves working with Ninna-ji temple, one of the temples in Kyoto, Japan. Many temples in Kyoto face ageing issues and need repair or rebuilding. TemDAO and Ninna-ji temple are working together to raise funds through donations to reconstruct the temple. Transactions are recorded on-chain, ensuring transparency and preventing corruption, and offering special utilities to collaborators who support their aims, such as the right to stay in a special part of the temple with historical significance.
TemDAO utilizes blockchain technology and features two forms of democratic governance: off-chain voting, known as ‘soft’ governance, and on-chain voting. The $TEM token fuels this system, allowing holders to lock $TEM for community governance, paying commission fees for IP-NFT trading, staking $TEM for fundraising and project reviews, and depositing $TEM to become nodes that review projects and deter cheating.
Furthermore, its $TEM token distribution is designed to provide incentives for all stakeholders in a democratic manner, with the majority of tokens (62%) allocated to the ecosystem for World Heritage or cultural asset protection, funds for equipment and repairs. A portion (14%) is allocated for marketing efforts, another portion (14%) for platform development and support services, and the remaining 10% in the hands of TemDAO stakeholders such as the team, investors, prospective employees, and strategic partners.

In addition to its preservation efforts, TemDAO has recently donated to support communities affected by global events using $TEM profits. This includes donating funds for relief efforts in Ukraine following the Russian invasion in 2022 and supporting earthquake relief efforts in Turkey in February 2023. Donations have been made to NPOs and NGOs such as “Save the Children” and “Binance Charity” to directly contribute to preserving and protecting the world’s heritage.
