In a strategic collaboration, Telegram has inked a lucrative deal with Elon Musk’s xAI to distribute its innovative Grok AI platform to the messaging app’s vast user base. While this marks a major move in Telegram’s vision of AI innovation, the TON price is surging and is up by 23%.

Telegram Enters into a One-Year xAI Deal: What It Means?

Pavel Durov and tech billionaire Elon Musk’s xAI have joined forces in a one-year deal to bring the Grok AI chatbot to Telegram, enhancing user experience with AI-driven interactions. As announced by Durov, Telegram will get $300 million in cash and equity from xAI, plus 50% of revenue from subscriptions sold through its platform. His X post read, “Telegram will receive $300M in cash and equity from xAI, plus 50% of revenue from xAI subscriptions sold via Telegram. Together, we win.”

Further, inviting the community members’ attention to the historic milestone, Durov wrote on his thread,

This summer, Telegram users will gain access to the best AI technology on the market. Elon Musk and I have agreed to a 1-year partnership to bring xAI’s Grok to our billion+ users and integrate it across all Telegram apps

Notably, this strategic deal comes on the heels of a $1.15 billion funding that Telegram received through a BlackRock, Mubadala-backed bond issue. Amid this development, Durov hinted at upcoming ‘good news’, which seems likely to be this xAI partnership.

Driven by this significant development, the TON price surged by more than 20% to reach a monthly high of $3.67. Over the past week and month, the token has seen notable increases of 16% and 8%, respectively. The 24-hour trading volume surged by 243%, hitting $487 million.

Elon Musk Envisions Grok Expansion

Significantly, Telegram solidifies its position as a key player in the AI chatbot ecosystem through this partnership, while xAI’s Grok chatbot gains rapid access to a massive global audience. This move enables Grok to expand its reach beyond its previous platform, X, and tap into Telegram’s vast user base, with the rollout expected to start soon. It is noteworthy that the move comes following the X platform’s recent outage due to a failover redundancy and Elon Musk’s efforts to fix it.

In March 2025, Elon Musk’s xAI and Grok partnered with X, integrating the AI capabilities into the social media platform. The deal aligned with X Corp’s significant investment in Grok, following xAI’s $6 billion funding round.
