SUI’s TVl is up 290% in two months.
Stardust, a blockchain gaming infrastructure provider, has integrated with the surging Layer 1 network, Sui, to streamline the process for developers launching web3 games on the network.
Announced on Feb. 15, Stardust expanded onto Sui via a partnership with Mysten Labs, a web3 infrastructure firm that originally developed Sui. Stardust’s tooling seeks to eliminate many of the technical hurdles associated with deploying games onto Sui.
“Today’s announcement marks a significant advancement for Sui’s gaming ecosystem by improving the developer onboarding process,” Stardust said. “Stardust’s infrastructure tools reduce the barrier to entry for developers to deploy games directly onto the Sui platform. This allows them to prioritize creating compelling and fun gaming experiences rather than dealing with difficult technical processes.”
Sui will integrate support for Sui into its wallets-as-a-service platform and user acquisition tools to improve the user experience for gamers interacting with Sui-based applications.
Sui rallies
The news follows a recent meteoric rise for Sui.
The network launched on mainnet last May after Mysten Labs completed a $300B Series B funding round at a $2B valuation in September 2022 and a $36M Series A round in December 2021.
The total value locked in Sui-based protocols currently stands at $588M after growing 290% from $150M in mid-December, ranking it as the tenth-largest smart contract network according to DeFi Llama. Sui’s eight-largest DeFi protocols have all grown by between 52% and 126% over the past 30 days.
The price of SUI is also up 190% over the same period, according to CoinGecko.
The web3 gaming sector has similarly outperformed in recent months. The combined capitalization of GameFi tokens rallied 180% to $26.3B after tagging $9.3B on Oct. 30.
