Shibarium is coming sooner than expected.
The Shiba Inu community eagerly anticipates the mainnet launch of Shibarium as comments from an official team member suggest the launch might be closer than people think.
In an exciting development for the SHIB community, Lucie, an official member of the SHIB marketing team, recently called attention to disclosures that suggest the mainnet launch of Shibarium, the Shiba Inu ecosystem L2 network, might actually be imminent.
On Twitter, Lucie shared a screenshot containing comments from Shibarium1, an anonymous Shibarium developer and admin in the official Shibarium Discord channel. The individual called attention to the “Wen Shibarium” question – a query that has dominated the Shiba Inu community as proponents anticipate the network’s mainnet launch.

In response to the question, the Shibarium admin disclosed: “It is closer than what you expect,” but neglected to give a specific date for the launch. However, he provided more details of the network’s development, suggesting that things are looking good.
According to him, the development teams are speeding up the release time, and things are going well in the testing phases.
For the uninitiated, Shibarium is a highly anticipated layer-2 scaling solution designed specifically for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Developed by the Shiba Inu development team, Shibarium aims to address the challenges of high gas fees and scalability, which have plagued the Ethereum network.
As previously reported by The Crypto Basic, Shibarium announced that each transaction conducted on its network would result in the burning of the Shiba Inu (SHIB) token. The Shibarium team shared the confirmation while reaffirmation that BONE would be the designated gas token for facilitating operations on the blockchain.
Scammers Roll Out Fake Shibarium Testnet
As anticipation builds up, unscrupulous individuals have sought to take advantage of investors’ enthusiasm. Recently, a prominent influencer warned the community about a fake Twitter account posing as Shiba Inu’s lead developer. The fraudulent account falsely announced the launch of Shibarium testnet version 2 and initiated a giveaway campaign to celebrate the occasion.
The Crypto Basic uncovered that the scammers created a clone of the Shibarium website, making slight modifications to deceive unsuspecting users. Upon visiting the website, users were prompted to connect a MetaMask wallet, which could result in fund loss.
