Shytoshi Kusama has asked community members to recommend non-profit organizations that accept donations in SHIB.
Lead Shiba Inu developer Shytoshi Kusama has urged the community to recommend non-profits that accept SHIB so whales can support relief efforts in Syria and Turkey.
Kusama recently made these calls through his official Twitter handle in the wake of the earthquakes that recently rocked Syria and Turkey, leaving thousands dead and numerous others injured. Search efforts are ongoing to rescue multiple individuals trapped in the ensuing debris.
My heart and prayers goes out to the #SHIBARMY in #Turkey and #Syria. Please put non-profits that accept #Shib from the commemt area so whales can help!

Following the remarks from Kusama, several SHIB investors have indicated an interest in making donations, but so far, only a few non-profits have been highlighted, including Doctors without Borders. While some individuals have disclosed that the American National Red Cross society accepts donations in SHIB, they revealed that the non-profit only operates for the U.S.
The Crypto Basic previously noted several non-profits that accept SHIB donations in a report last month. These include the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the Amazon Watch, and the American Cancer Society. Still, the concerns of this organization are unrelated to the happenings in Syria and Turkey.
The Crypto Community Rallies in Support of Turkey and Syria
Recall that a magnitude 7.8 earthquake and a subsequent magnitude 7.5 earthquake occurred in northwestern Syria and southeastern Turkey yesterday, killing and injuring thousands. In response, the crypto community has rallied to support relief efforts.

Binance recently disclosed that they would be airdropping $100 to users confirmed to reside in the most affected areas. Before this, Binance Chief CZ had sent his condolences and revealed that the Binance team was looking for ways to assist the affected regions.
We are truly saddened by the earthquake in Turkey 🇹🇷. Our team has been working on a solution to help the people. There are quite a few details. I have had 4 meetings on it today. More details to come. Stay strong. 🙏

Several other exchanges have also pledged donations so far, including Huobi (2M TRY), BitFinex and Tether (5M TRY), and Bitget (1M TRY). Turkish rock artiste Haluk Levent, through his charitable NGO Ahbap, disclosed three multi-sig addresses on the Ethereum network, the BNB Chain, and the Avalanche network to receive contributions. The crypto community has donated over $460K as of press time.
Notably, Turkey has seen increased crypto adoption in the face of rising inflation, with over 8M citizens reported believed to be involved in crypto last November.
