Ripple Donates $25M RLUSD to U.S. Small Businesses, Veterans

  • Ripple donates $25M in RLUSD to expand small business loans and veteran careers
  • Stablecoin disbursements highlight faster, low-cost, transparent funding for nonprofits
  • Ripple’s grants expected to unlock $125M financing and 14,000 veteran job pathways

Ripple announced a $25 million donation in its U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD), aimed at expanding small business loans and creating career opportunities for veterans.

The funds will flow to Accion Opportunity Fund and Hire Heroes USA, two nonprofits with direct ties to underserved entrepreneurs and the veteran community. CEO Brad Garlinghouse called the effort a long-term investment in U.S. economic resilience.

Stablecoin-Powered Disbursements

Unlike traditional grants, Ripple is distributing the support in RLUSD, ensuring nonprofits receive faster, lower-cost, and transparent transfers.

That model cuts delays tied to banking systems and gives recipient organizations firsthand experience managing digital wallets. The move illustrates how stablecoins can operate as practical tools for social impact, not just for trading.

$125M in Small Business Financing

Accion Opportunity Fund will direct Ripple’s backing toward boosting its lending capacity, unlocking an estimated $125 million in small business financing.

In addition, the Ripple Digital Leap Forward accelerator will provide entrepreneurs with training and seed capital, giving underserved founders better access to growth capital in markets where traditional bank loans remain scarce.

14,000 Career Pathways for Veterans

Hire Heroes USA will channel its share of funding into training, coaching, and fintech job placements for veterans and military spouses.

The initiative is expected to create 14,000 career pathways, addressing the employment gap that hits the 200,000 service members who leave active duty each year. A new Fintech Pathways program could further generate $900 million in annual economic activity, expanding the long-term impact beyond immediate job placements.

Ripple’s Broader Commitment

Ripple’s Wider Commitment

This marks Ripple’s second $25 million donation in 2025. Earlier this year, the firm funded DonorsChoose and Teach For America, supporting over 30,000 classroom projects nationwide.

By tying philanthropy directly to digital assets, Ripple is positioning RLUSD as more than a stablecoin, as a funding vehicle that links blockchain to systemic change.
