Orbs, the bridge between the leading blockchain networks, has set its sights on one of the newest contenders to join the race to Web3, Fantom.
Fantom might be new, but it is offering some of the best that Proof of Stake chains have to offer. Scalable, fast, and cheap and it is above all else, laser-focused on hosting apps for DeFi.
Orb, a Layer-3 chain, which supports Layer-1 and-2 functionality, by making smart contracts able to conduct more sophisticated activity, has now integrated with Fantom.
This follows integrations with Layer 1 chains including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Solana, Avalanche, and Harmony.
Fantom itself is an EVM-compatible chain, which means that apps hosted on its network can see value transferred across the entire EVM ecosystem of chains.
Fantom is growing fast and appealing to more and more projects, currently hosting over 100 Dapps, and ranking at the number 4 chain for TVL by defillama, with over $12B locked in.
The three largest Dapps hosted on Fantom, include SpookySwap, Geist Finance, and Scream, which together boast $1B in TVL.
The token at the heart of the Fantom network, the FTM shows strong gains over the last year.
Additionally, more projects are now expanding across to Fantom to enhance their multi-chain operability. These include popular projects like Multichain, Curve and Beefy Binance.
Orbs itself is growing fast, hot on the heels of its latest upgrade as it now offers multi-chain staking on both Ethereum and Polygon, as well as more Layer 3 apps building on its protocol, which include the alert notification tool for on-chain activities through the Open DeFi Notification Protocol as well as the smart vault aggregator Revault Network, which collects data from hundreds of vaults and optimizes investors holdings across vaults automatically.
The integration between Orbs and Fantom, sets the stage for more Fantom based DeFi apps to enhance their protocols with Orbs L3 functionality.
