OKX, a leading Web3 technology company, and McLaren Racing recently hosted a panel discussion at Tribeca Festival 2023 titled ‘Need for Speed: How Technology Powers Change in Sports, Movies, and Crypto.’
The Panel, which was moderated by Tiffany Shlain, an Emmy-nominated filmmaker, and Webby Awards, featured OKX Chief Marketing Officer Haider Rafique, McLaren F1 Driver Lando Norris, McLaren Racing Chief Executive Officer Zak Brown, and director, producer, and screenwriter Stephen Kay.
Reportedly, the Panel came together to discuss how technology has transferred various industries, including entertainment, sports, cryptocurrency, and finance. Most importantly, the panellist emphasized the impact of innovation on performance, efficiency and speed across different industries.
While commenting on the event, OKX Chief Marketing Officer Haider Rafique stated:
“We’ve achieved a lot together in just one year. The McLaren F1 team has a huge appetite to lean into Web3 and make its heritage more discoverable for younger generations, and we want to play a big role in making that a reality for them. There are incredible stories here that can motivate the next generation of drivers and fans to get involved with the sport and, in particular, celebrate McLaren’s achievements on and off track. Our goal is to help McLaren transcend into this future and share what we are cooking together on our panel”.

This was the second consecutive year for OKX as the presenting sponsor of the Tribeca Festival. The two companies have a multi-year partnership that seeks to unlock new Web3 opportunities for fans, creators, and talent. Notably, earlier this year in January, OKX introduced the first-ever Tribeca Festival NFT pass ahead of the Tribeca Festival 2023.
The Panel discussion follows the multi-year partnership between McLaren Racing and OKX, which was announced last year in May. The partnership aimed at making OKX a primary partner for McLauren Formula 1 Team and the McLauren Shadow esports team. Since then, OKX has supported the team by providing exciting opportunities and product innovations for a better global fan experience. The partnership has seen OKX branding featured on the helmets of McLaren F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, McLaren Shadow team kits, and the McLaren cars and the McLaren F1.
Since its launch, OKX has offered its users and partners a comprehensive suite of products, including the OKX wallet, DEX, and NFT Marketplace. Recently, OKX launched a global brand campaign entitled ‘The System Needs a Rewrite.’ The campaign advocates for a new paradigm led by Web3 technology to replace exciting centralized systems.
