The update targets mobile users in supported non-US jurisdictions. It marks one of the first native launches of tokenized equities inside a major self-custodial wallet.

The list includes shares linked to Tesla, NVIDIA, Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon.
It also covers ETFs such as QQQ, SLV, and IAU, which track technology, silver, and gold.
According to the announcement, users do not need a traditional brokerage account.
All transactions remain on crypto rails using blockchain-based tokens.
The launch debuted at the Ondo Global Summit. The firms described it as part of a broader shift in market infrastructure toward tokenization at scale.
Tokenization moves closer to mainstream finance
The blog post noted that tokenized real-world assets now exceed $22 billion globally. The MetaMask integration brings these assets into a wallet already used worldwide.
For MetaMask, the update broadens its role beyond crypto storage.
The wallet now acts as a single interface for digital and traditional market exposure.
Ondo Finance gains direct access to MetaMask’s large user base. This allows tokenized securities to reach more users without separate platforms.
Joe Lubin, CEO of Consensys, said US market access still relies on legacy systems. He stated that a self-custodial wallet can combine crypto and traditional assets without intermediaries.
The companies framed the launch as a model for unified digital finance. They emphasized user control and onchain settlement.
How MetaMask users can trade Ondo Global Markets tokens
MetaMask users can acquire Ondo Global Markets tokens through MetaMask Swaps. These GM tokens track the market value of underlying securities.
Trading runs 24 hours a day, five days a week. The window starts Sunday evening and ends Friday night in U.S. time.
Users must use USDC on Ethereum mainnet to access the assets. Tokens remain transferable at all hours, even outside trading windows.
Ondo said pricing reflects traditional brokerage markets. The firm compared the experience to retail trading apps, but inside a self-custodial wallet.
Ian De Bode, President of Ondo Finance, said the integration introduces a new asset class to familiar wallet users. He added that it blends traditional pricing with onchain control.
Key features of MetaMask tokenized securities launch
At launch, MetaMask supports more than 200 tokenized US stocks and ETFs. All assets run on Ethereum mainnet through Ondo Global Markets.
Users can trade during market hours using MetaMask Swaps. They can also send and receive tokens at any time.
The wallet now shows tokenized securities alongside crypto holdings. This allows unified portfolio management inside one application.
According to the companies, the service covers major market sectors. These include technology, commodities, and broad index funds.
Ondo Finance said the goal is wider access to capital markets. MetaMask described the feature as a step toward a single onchain financial interface.
The integration signals growing demand for tokenized securities. It also reflects how wallets now compete with traditional financial platforms for user activity.
