- MetaMask now supports Solana directly in its browser extension, enabling token management without using separate wallets.
- Security features like transaction simulation and DApp risk alerts now also apply to Solana accounts on MetaMask.
MetaMask finally officially supports the Solana network natively through its browser extension. Yes, this is not only good news for old MetaMask users, but also a signal that the digital wallet ecosystem is starting to open up to networks outside of Ethereum.
Now, anyone can manage SOL and SPL token assets directly from the same display, without the need to install additional wallets or switch applications. Just imagine if you could swap Ethereum tokens, then immediately send SOL to your friends, all from one window. Very convenient, right?

MetaMask Expands Utility With Seamless Solana Integration
Furthermore, users can also create a new Solana account or import an old account using the Secret Recovery Phrase. MetaMask will automatically recognize the balance of SPL and SOL tokens in it.
Features such as sending, receiving, swapping, and purchasing Solana-based tokens are now available. In fact, connections to DApps in the Solana ecosystem can now be done directly, without the need for external wallets such as Phantom.
On the other hand, they also still pay attention to security. All the protection features that Ethereum users usually enjoy, such as transaction simulation and risky DApp detection, are now also applied to the Solana network. This is the answer for those of you who are anxious every time you want to click “Confirm” in your wallet.
Solana Integration, Smart Accounts, and Bitcoin Support Plans
Interestingly, this step is not the only breakthrough by MetaMask in the last few months. On May 9, they launched the Smart Accounts feature that allows users to enjoy the benefits of a smart wallet without having to change addresses or the hassle of moving funds.
This feature allows batch transactions, gas payments using any token, and extra security through delegator contracts. Activation is also just one click, as long as you are using MetaMask version 12.17.1 or above, on networks such as Ethereum, BNB Chain, Gnosis, or Sepolia.
Not only that, CNF also previously reported last March, MetaMask had integrated the Crypto Tax Calculator, a tax tool that automatically compiles tax reports according to 23 different jurisdictions.
This not only makes life easier for users who are confused about tax matters, but also reduces the risk of misreporting. Users can manage multiple wallets at once and combine all transaction records without having to open multiple tabs or spreadsheets.
And the most anticipated: MetaMask also announced plans to add native support for the Bitcoin network in the third quarter of this year. This means that Bitcoin will no longer be a “guest” in the form of wrapped tokens, but will be directly managed within the MetaMask interface. If that happens, users will be able to interact with three major crypto ecosystems—Ethereum, Solana, and Bitcoin—all in one wallet.
