On-chain researcher ZachXBT has uncovered a new scam in the Solana ecosystem. According to ZachXBT, a project called Aqua committed a rugpull scam involving approximately 21,770 SOL (approximately $4.65 million).
The project had previously been promoted by teams like Meteora, Quill Audits, Helius, SYMMIO, Dialect, and numerous cryptocurrency influencers. However, just hours ago, it was discovered that the funds had been split into four separate parts, transferred to intermediary addresses, and then sent to various instant exchanges.
Following the scandal, the Aqua team disabled replies on all their posts on X (Twitter).
Recently, ZachXBT announced that 193,000 SOL (approximately $41.5 million) was stolen from Swiss-based crypto platform SwissBorg due to a security breach at its partner API provider, Kiln.
However, it’s important to note that while both incidents occurred within the Solana ecosystem, they weren’t directly related to Solana. These incidents don’t necessarily mean the vulnerabilities are within the Solana ecosystem.
