The creators of Cryptopunks and Autoglyphs just wrapped up Art Blocks’ curated series with a new release, Quine.
Generative art NFT platform Art Blocks launched its final curated collection today, with an auction for a new collection by Larva Labs, the creators of Cryptopunks, Autoglyphs, and Meebits.
The collection, named Quine, features 477 pieces up for public purchase via an auction mechanism, where the lowest winning bid is the price paid by all bidders. The low bid sat at just 0.3 ETH, or $1,250, late last night, and serious participants flooded the auction over the closing hour, with the sale closing at 7.56 ETH, or $31,000 per Quine NFT, at noon EST on Oct. 10.
Quine marks Larva Labs’ first 1/1/X release since Meebits, and its first non-avatar, unique generative art collection since Autoglyphs, which currently command an 84 ETH ($344,000) floor, with a 60 WETH ($246,000) standing bid.
Trading opened roughly 20 minutes post-auction, with the first two sales going for 8.9 ETH ($36,490) and 9.45 ETH ($38,750).
Prior to the launch, Art Blocks founder Erick Snowfro shared his gratitude to Larva Labs on X, saying, “These guys launched punks and created that magical ‘aha’ moment that made everything click for a lot of people, basically consuming many of our lives every. single. day. since.”
“Hard to imagine what this place would be like had these guys not done what they did. It’s even harder to imagine anyone else in the world I would be more honored to close out Art Blocks Curated than them.” Snowfro concluded.
