Tory Green has been named CEO of io.net, a pioneer in Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN). Stepping up from his COO position with io.net, Tory succeeds the departing Ahmad Shadid and will now guide the firm as it grows its Internet of GPUs.
Tory Green brings more than two decades of expertise as a tech industry entrepreneur, investor, and C-level executive to his position as CEO of io.net. Tory Green, who held the position of COO before, has played a crucial role in steering io.net’s strategic objectives and expansion. He has amassed a lot of experience about the difficulties involved in growing a decentralized physical infrastructure network in order to rival centralized incumbents.
Leading the company’s Series A funding and overseeing day-to-day operations in the months before the leadership change, Tory has played a crucial role in io.net’s development. His main goal is to instill operational excellence and discipline in the new leadership group. To be ready for io.net’s next phase of expansion, Tory, in his new position as CEO, will be strengthening the Business Development and Technical teams and appointing new leadership.
In a statement, Tory Green said:
“I’m honored to be appointed CEO of io.net, and of building upon the fine work that has been done in carrying the company to where it is today. Over the last five years, io.net has evolved from an idea into a major company that is accelerating AI innovation and providing revenue for a global army of GPU and CPU suppliers. But this is only the start.”
Tory further added:
“With IOG Network we’ve proven the viability of DePIN in creating a thriving two-sided marketplace that allows AI startups to access the compute they need on demand. Now, the focus turns to expanding our global network with the goal of positioning io.net at the forefront of the AI revolution while providing greater opportunities for GPU suppliers to participate.”
Moreover, with the full support of the leadership team, Tory’s prior position as io.net COO facilitated a seamless transition and upheld the company’s strategic vision and present path. Tory worked as a venture capitalist at Tiller Partners for seven years before joining io.net. During that time, he supported portfolio firms in a range of operational capacities, including COO, CRO, and CFO. He was Hum Capital’s COO and CFO until recently.
Before joining io.net, Tory worked for The Walt Disney Company, Merrill Lynch, Tiller Partners, Hum Capital, Oaktree Capital Management, and 21st Century Fox in important operational, financial, and strategic capacities. He played football for the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University.
With its self-service platform, io.net has made over $1 million in earnings for employees since its start seven months ago. It has also built a strong managed services company with $200K in monthly revenue. The network now has 26,000 cluster-ready GPUs and CPUs that are ready for on-demand deployment, and over 250,000 verified GPUs and CPUs that have successfully completed Proof of Work verification.
